Platinum Mall

Today I was invited to go shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall in the Pratunam Market area. I'd been to the Mall several times, but only to eat the the food court. I'd window shopped each time I have to go to the 5th floor to the food court.

The Mall is a wholesale market and people come here to buy cheap fashion. Nothing high end at this mall. You can find local fashion here and some good quality fashion. You can find from underwear to accessories of all types available in the market.

The few time I came here, I noticed people for near and far. You can see the young 'farang' that come here to buy cheap knock offs to sell at home. The market open as early as 7 AM for the wholesalers and bulk buyers. Many local buyers come here to go the their shop to start selling in the shop. Some office girls come early too, especially on Wednesday and Thursday because these are the days the new merchandise arrives.

When I was invited, I was excited because I could take good photos in the Mall. But its the last of real work for the girls before they go on vacation next week. P is going to Melbourne, Australia where here friend is going with her or not. Two thumbs up to her. While N, the newly wed, is to going to Manila to visit her new husband. He's is working in Manila a a body guard because the pay is really good and lord knows that city really need body guards.

We didn't know when the Mall will be closed, so we took our chance and left the office late. We got to the Mall in good time considering the traffic. Alas, it was almost all for naught. Most of the stores were already closing and the few that still open was far and few in between. Even then, I bought a few things:

Not bad for a short time shopping and with few stores. I am coming back from more goodies of photos and stuff. Hopefully, mostly photos. But for this evening, we ended up in Swensen, amazing ourselves with ice cream while waiting for the rain to subside.

Everyday Bangkok

this is me on my birthday when the building manager came to deliver flowers because our company has just closed on additional space in the building. How did he know it was my birthday (May 8th) but who would know that it's not for me.

Okay, that is not the purpose of this blog. From the title "Notes from. . . ." was really intended that I could write about anything. Great. Now what do I really write about? I really didn't know until it hit me like a lighting bolt-I could write about everyday Bangkok.

So what is 'Everyday Bangkok'. Well, it's a photo diary of my life in Bangkok. I am going to take pictures every day and comment on it. Yeah, great idea.

So I geared up and bought myself a camera that has been a constant companion. I am so happy that things are falling into place. Because besides my camera, I do have a camera phone, but the quality of the picture is not so great. At any rate, I have an arsenal of cables to connect with the computer. My wi-fi is fixed and things are just great and ready to go.
